How to Defeat Grym

This method can work even on a solo honor run or in a group even at a low level or however you want. Thanks to Morgana Evelyn for the amazing technique, check out her amazing fight and run with it.

Grab moulds and mithril x2.

Press lever to lower the forge, then fast travel back up to the forge waypoint, walk down to the ledge. And stand on that ledge the whole time to fight him so he can’t even touch you.

Shoot an arrow to activate the lava and release Grym.

Shoot him a bit with arrows until he approaches you.

Throw stuff at him, specifcally boots, gloves, and books work quite well and deal 20-30 damage each. (So save them earlier in the game. Even camp boots work! and random books you find everywhere. This is the only fight they’re really handy but boy do they work here!)

He can’t touch you, but after a while the Mephits will spawn. They will attack him, or you if you’re visible so you can hide while he deals with them and/or back away. But be careful not to back into the other mephits near the mithril if you snuck by them earlier.

Intermittently shoot the valve to get the lava to come back if it goes away once his vulnerability fades.

Once he’s down to close to dying, change over to using arrows to shoot at him, so you get xp with the kill.

Claim your excellent forge loot! I recommend the shield and heavy armor as the best choices
