If done correctly, the Zaithisk allows you to have Illithid powers use bonus action instead of action which is really nice since that way you can save regular actions for regular attacks and spells.

First of all have Lae’zel wait in camp if she’s in your party otherwise she will insist on taking it and she doesn’t seem to be able to get success.

These items can be used to increase your chances of success with the Zaithisk saving throws.

  • Warped Headband of intellect sets intellect to 17, for me I had -1 baseline +4 from the headband

  • Cloak of Protection for +1 to saving throws, buy from Talli in Last Light

  • Correlon’s grace buy from antie ethel for +2 to all the saves

  • Ring of Protection +1 to all

Saving throws are

  1. Intelligence, DC 12

    1. headband of intellect works

    2. cloak of protection works

    3. ring of protection works +1

    4. correlon’s grace works +2

    5. intelligence works +4 (at intelligence 18)

    6. intelligence proficiency +3 (for bladesinging wizard)

  2. Wisdom, DC 15

    1. cloak of protection works but not headband intellect

    2. ring of protection works +1

    3. correlon’s grace works +2

    4. wisdom, wisdom proficiency

  3. Choice of 3

    1. Constitution saving throw

    2. Intelligence saving throw

    3. [Sorcerer] Charisma saving throw, DC 18

    4. [Wizard], Intelligence saving throw, DC 18

      1. ring of protection works +1
